CLARKDALE — Superintendent Matt Schumacher looked as happy as a new dad while posing with the district’s brand new bright yellow school bus for photos on Tuesday, Nov 19.
Well, why not? The district’s $400,000 free electric school bus had just arrived last Thursday and tiny Clarkdale-Jerome School District, is the first school in the Verde Valley to put an electric bus in its fleet, said Schumacher.
There were school kids, staff who helped secure the grant and board members at the ribbon cutting.
And of course, the bus driver, Bill Murray, who took the dignitaries on a quick, diesel-free, spin around town after the ceremony.
